48 Hours in Tokyo — A Companion’s Diary

Tokyo is a city of small windows. You miss them and they are gone — the last train, the chef who only takes walk-ins between nine and ten, the bridge that lights up for forty seconds.
Day One — Roppongi, by the water
Started with omakase in a six-seat counter where the chef refused to say a word until the third course. Walked the waterfront after, lights from Tokyo Tower bouncing off the rain.
Day Two — Coffee and quiet temples
Skipped Shibuya entirely. Found a tiny temple in Yanaka where the only sound was a broom on stone. Ended the day at a hotel bar that does not exist on Google Maps.
If you travel through Tokyo and want company who knows the small windows, the calendar lives at linktr.ee/mariadelanox.
