Vietnam: The Destination I Thought I’d Love… But Ended Up Hating

I had my eye on Vietnam since last year. I heard its economy was booming and that some people in Mexico had sold everything to move here, looking for a cheaper and safer life. It sounded like the perfect place to take a break from work, so I decided to give it a shot.

But the moment I set foot in the city, I knew something was off. The chaos is real! If I thought Mexico City was a mess, this place takes it to another level. The traffic is insane, motorbikes come out of nowhere like in a video game, and the streets are dirtier than I expected. Honestly, I wanted to leave as soon as I arrived.

Still, I figured I might as well make the most of it. Since I was already here, why not get an eyes job?

I really wanted to have eye surgery to make them a bit bigger since clients often think I’m asian, which made me feel like I needed to enhance their size. I also took the chance to get a touch-up on my nose.

I wasn’t completely happy with my last surgery, and on top of that, I had trouble breathing properly. Vietnam is known for its affordable cosmetic procedures, so I decided to go for it one more time.

Now, I’m in recovery, waiting to see the final results.

. But here’s the thing—while I planned to take a break from work, my sex drive clearly didn’t get the purpose. Abstinence and I do not get along, so I got impatient… and, well, I ended up putting up ads even with my nose bandaged up. 🤭

Will I leave Vietnam as soon as I can? Most likely. To top it off, I booked my biometrics appointment for my new Australian visa here! but they refused to take my photos because I still look freshly operated! can it be more annoying!? 😩

So now I have to wait until the last possible day to get it done while icing my face and hiding from this crazy heat.

Was the trip worth it just for the surgery? That remains to be seen. But if there’s one thing I learned from this experience, it’s that not every place that seems like a good idea on paper is actually one in reality.
